Orthodontist
Dr Alex Wenden
BDent (Hons) Sydney, MOrth (Hong Kong), MOrth RCS (Edinburgh), BMedSci (Sydney)
Personal Experience
Ever since I finished my own braces treatment as a teenager, I knew that I wanted to become an orthodontist! As a specialist orthodontist, it is incredibly rewarding to be able to provide both children and adults with the treatment they need to find confidence in their smile.’
Dr Alex completed his studies in Dentistry at the University of Sydney, graduating with Honours in 2007. After this, he worked as a general dentist treating medically complex patients at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Camperdown. Still excited to pursue orthodontics, he accepted a three year orthodontic training position at the University of Hong Kong, and became a specialist in 2012. During this time he also completed a Membership in Orthodontics at the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh, UK.
Since then he has had the privilege of working as an orthodontist in Singapore, Sydney and also regional NSW: in Tamworth and Shellharbour. This has exposed him to a wide range of patients with vastly different and unique orthodontic situations.
Being an orthodontist involves countless clinical hours creating smiles but it is equally important to keep up to date with the latest technology and research for my own professional development and for his patients. Dr Alex regularly attends local and international conferences to ensure that his knowledge is current and that he continues to provide state of the art treatment. When not in the clinic he enjoys spending time with his family, and when he gets a chance to: snowboarding, scuba diving and playing a bit of golf!
‘Being able to give a patient the gift of confidence to smile is something I look forward to doing each and every day.’
